Promotions, offers, discount codes and Refer a friend
Every discount: sales that start and stop by themselves or run all the time, savings on regular appointments, discount codes clients type when booking, Refer a friend, and the Offers category on your website.
Seeing what’s on offer
In Admin → Treatments, every treatment a running promotion covers has a green label with the promotion’s name, how much off and when it ends. Your website and booking page show the sale price and a “was” price while it runs.
One place for discounts
Sales and everyday discounts live in Promotions, in Marketing → Offers (discount codes and Refer a friend are on the same page, below). For an everyday discount on one treatment, make a promotion for just that treatment with no dates. For money off regular appointments, choose Regular visits under Money off: it’s taken off every visit of a regular appointment, and single bookings pay the normal price. Each treatment lists the promotions on it under Discounts.
Making a promotion
- 1Marketing → Offers, then New promotion.
- 2Name it (clients see the name). Under Money off, choose The price or Regular visits. Under How much, choose % off or £ off (up to 90%).
- 3Choose every treatment or ticked ones.
- 4Tap Add dates (you can add more than one set), or leave them out to run all the time, for an everyday discount. Add a From and To time too if you like, for example a flash sale from 18:00 on Friday to 09:00 on Monday (UK time); without times it runs from the start of the first day to the end of the last.
- 5Switch on Repeat every year for yearly sales: the same dates and times every year.
Naming it with AI
Stuck for a name? Tap Write with AI beside Name, say what the offer is and tap Write it. Not keen? Try again. Then tap Use this.
How it works
Your website and online booking show the sale price while it runs, with “Ends in 3 days” (or “Ends today at 17:00” when it has an end time) near the end, then go back to the normal price on their own. If two promotions overlap, clients get the bigger saving. Clients keep the price they booked at, including every visit of a regular appointment booked during the sale.
Discount codes
- 1Marketing → Offers, then New code under Discount codes.
- 2Type the code clients will use, like SUMMER10 (letters, numbers and dashes; capitals are added for you), or tap Make one up. Add a note for your team if you like, such as where you shared it; clients don’t see it.
- 3Choose % off or £ off, and if you like a minimum spend.
- 4Leave the dates empty for any day, or choose a first and last day it can be used (the day they book, not the appointment). Set how many times it can be used in total, or leave it empty for no limit.
- 5Once per client is on to start with: each email address can use it once. Switch it off to let clients use it every time they book.
- 6Choose every treatment or ticked ones, then Add code.
How clients use a code
While you have a code that can be used today, your booking page shows Have a discount code? under the price. The client types it and taps Apply: it says straight away if the code is wrong, has ended, is used up, isn’t for that treatment, is under the minimum spend or they’ve used it before. The money comes off before they pay, card payments and deposits included, and the booking comes into your calendar at the lower price with the code in its notes. Codes aren’t for regular appointments or bookings paid with a gift card, and one code can be used for each booking. The list in Marketing → Offers shows how many times each code has been used; switch one off to stop it at once, or delete it (bookings already made keep their discount).
Refer a friend
In Marketing → Offers, set what a friend gets off their first booking (% or £ off) and how much credit the client who shared their code gets for each friend who books (for example £10), then switch Refer a friend on. Each client gets their own code, like OLIVIA-K3P7, made the first time it’s needed. To share codes, start a campaign from Refer a friend in Marketing → Campaigns (each client’s email has their own code; Insert → Their refer-a-friend code adds it to any campaign), or open a client’s profile and use Make their code, Copy or Email it to them under their email address. A friend types the code when booking online and the money comes off, like any discount code. Codes are for new clients only: someone who has booked online before can’t use one, and each friend can use a code once.
The reward card
A client’s code is also their reward card. Each friend who books with it adds your credit to it, and it adds up: ten friends at £10 is £100. To spend it online, the client types their own code when they book, using the email address you have for them: up to the price comes off (what’s left stays on the card). At the desk, open their booking and tap Take payment: Refer a friend reward card shows what’s on it, and Use takes up to what’s owed off the price. Put it back undoes it. Their profile shows what’s on the card, what they’ve earned and the history (History). Marketing → Offers → Refer a friend shows the credit earned, the credit on cards and who has some. If a friend’s booking is never paid for or is declined, its credit comes back off; credit used on a booking that’s never paid for goes back on. If the friend turns out to be an existing client, the credit still goes on and the activity log says so: use it up at the desk if it shouldn’t count.
The Offers category
In Admin → Treatments → Categories, Offers fills itself with every treatment that has a promotion running, on the price or on regular visits. Switch it on to show it first on your website and in online booking. Tap it to rename it or give it a photo and description; it can’t be deleted.
